The UNC Center for Functional GI and Motility Disorders will be hosting the educational symposium, “How to Treat IBS Effectively: Expert Update for Health Professionals” on November 2, 2013 at the Rizzo Conference Center in Chapel Hill, bringing together several the world’s leading experts in the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Topics will include the latest and best information on etiology of IBS, drug treatment, Probiotics, Antibiotics, Diet, Effective psychological interventions, and using the Rome Criteria in clinical practice. Check out the agenda with topics and featured speakers.

I’m excited to lead a session on the use of the Rome criteria in clinical practice and explain how to optimize the doctor patient relationship.

The symposium will also benefit psychologists by describing cognitive behavior therapy, hypnosis, and complementary medicine techniques that have proven effectiveness in IBS. Psychologists will also learn how to collaborate with gastroenterologists in the management of these patients

Participation is offered in three formats;

(1) CME/CEU in-person participation

(2) CME/CEU live streaming video webinar, and

(3) non-CME/CEU free attendance online.

What’s even more exciting is that paid and no-charge webinar participants will have the same access to speakers as in person participants and will be able to submit questions online and have them addressed during the discussion panels at the end of each session. This means individuals who wish to participate online will have the same opportunity to interact with the speakers by submitting questions online that will be addressed during the discussion panels after each section has been completed.

Can’t Make it to UNC? Participate Online!

Online participants can register for free (HERE) if they do not need certificate of attendance or CEU / CME credits. Need CME credits?  Register for CME / CEU credits here.
