Elizabeth Smith, PA-C is stepping in as the new Physician Assistant for Drossman Gastroenterology
A member of the team since June 2021, Ms. Smith is a dedicated and thoughtful caregiver ideally suited for her new leadership role.
“I’m excited about this opportunity to serve patients at Drossman Gastroenterology,” says Ms. Smith. “I look forward to forming relationships with patients and partnering with them in their care.”
Ms. Smith earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from NC State and received her MastersMasers in Physician Assistant Studies from Elon University. She is a NCCPA certified Physician Assistant. Her experience with both research and patient care is invaluable, providing DrossmanCare patients the clarity and compassion they deserve.
Patient-centered care is tantamount to Ms. Smith’s philosophy as a medical practitioner. She believes optimal gastroenterological care comes from actively listening to patients’ stories and educating them on their medical conditions and treatments in a genuinely caring manner.
“Elizabeth was our top candidate for this position. Her knowledge and decision-making skills are outstanding and that was evident immediately. I look forward to our collaboration in the future,” says Dr. Drossman.
Ms. Smith is a North Carolina native who grew up in Huntersville. She’s a die-hard fan of the NC State Wolfpack and loves spending time with her husband and family. She’s frequently on the go traveling, hiking, or boating, and is always ready for the next adventure.
