IFFGD develops professional symposia aimed at promoting education and awareness among professionals from multiple disciplines who treat gastrointestinal disorders and incontinence.
The biennial International Symposium on Functional GI Disorders, first held in 1995, was the first international meeting designed to communicate new knowledge in the field of functional GI disorders. This symposium has been described as “an educational jewel,” attracting hundreds of scientists and health care professionals from around the world with an interest in functional GI and motility disorders in both adults and children. Dr Drossman has been the Program chair for this Symposium since its inception and has played a vital role not only in ensuring its strong content, but as a speaker as well. The following is a portion of the 2013 conference held in Milwaukee WI on April 12-14th.
