Dr. Drossman has discontinued providing endoscopic services but is able to refer patients needing colonoscopy or esophagogastroduodenoscopy to colleagues at UNC or Triangle Endoscopy Center.

The AACH is a nationally recognized program to teach communication skills and personal awareness to healthcare professionals. Dr. Drossman was a founding member, facilitator and fellow in this organization.

This is the clinical arm of DrossmanCare, located in Durham.
- Rome Foundation
The Rome Foundation is an international independent not for profit 501(c) 3 organization that provides support for activities designed to create scientific data, develop guidelines and educational information to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs). Dr. Drossman is founder and President.
- UNC Center for Functional GI and Motility Disorders
The center provides research, training, and treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and other functional GI disorders. Dr Drossman is the co-founder and former co-director.
The UNC Center for Functional GI & Motility Disorders held a patient symposium in June 2012 called “Expert Update on Treatments for Functional GI Disorders: A Symposium for Patients”. This educational symposium brought together many prominent experts in the field of functional GI disorders, with the aim of providing patients with these health problems in the U.S. and beyond with the latest information on treatments for their conditions. The symposium was divided into 4 topic sessions, each consisting of several presentations: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Pediatrics, Pelvic Floor Disorders and Upper GI Disorders.

IFFGD is a Public Educational and advocacy group designated under the U.S. IRS code 501(c)(3). It is a nonprofit education and research organization dedicated to informing, assisting, and supporting people affected by gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. Dr. Drossman is a member of the Board of Directors, Chair of the Research Committee and Program Director for their biennial international conferences.
