Last month I had the honor of presenting on, “Understanding and Treating Patients with Refractory Functional Abdominal Pain,” during the University of North Carolina’s Medicine Grand Rounds. In my presentation I share with the audience that I have really tried very hard to committ to understanding some of the more challenging patient cases, particulary those patients with functional gastrointestinal disorders(FGIDs.) I tried to bring some of this experience to the audience by asking them to put themeselves in the office setting as we dissect a case.
