APS Presidents Award – Monica Montgomery

A longitudinal study of a patient born with esophageal atresia. Ms. Montgomery participated in this one-of-a-kind study for over 40 years and provided invaluable information about the development of a person born with a severe GI disorder. In 1997 when Dr. Drossman was President of the American Psychosomatic Society he brought Ms. Montgomery in to discuss her life and the process of documenting the history of her illness.
