Diarrhea is a term used to describe painless, loose, thin, or watery stools.  It may be associated with abdominal bloating or cramping, nausea, vomiting, and a sense of urgency to have a bowel movement.  If painless diarrhea occurs for more than 3 times a day for 3 weeks, then it is considered chronic diarrhea or functional diarrhea.
